A memorial fund to carry on the legacy of Mowgli Black, providing scholarships in his beloved Roaring Fork Valley, to students focused on a life of personal sacrifice and community building.

The scholarship fund was founded in March 2025, to raise funds to aid Coloradans pursuing a 4-year university degree, vocational training, and/or post-GI funding for graduate studies.

We will issue our first scholarship in the 2026 school year to a candidate in Basalt, CO, and expand scholarships throughout Western Colorado over a 5-year plan. All gifts/donations will be administered by the Aspen Community Foundation, and scholarship funds reviewed and approved by a Board of Directors to be appointed in 2025.
